As followers of Jesus Christ, we are commissioned, sent out, called to live in biblical community together. To encourage one another, hold each other accountable, study the scriptures together, break bread together, and essentially do life together. My husband and I have been living in community for over 3 years. I led a small group of single girls in Fort Worth, Texas before getting married and joining my husband in Denver, Colorado in December of 2014. We now lead and host a gospel community at our home each week where we share a meal together, laugh until we have tears in our eyes, lament over the brokenness of this world, study the bible together, and pray for one another, our community, our church, and our world. My heart is to share how we live in community, the ways our group shows up for one another, the fun adventures we go on together, and how we love each other in a way that is a small glimpse of how we are loved by the Creator of the universe.
My husband and I love to travel and go on adventures! We currently live in Denver, Colorado and we escape out to our family's cabin in the Rocky Mountains every chance we get to soak up the beautiful sunshine and explore. We also love to travel around the U.S. and the world to experience other cultures, food, and bask God's creation. We desire to see the world with our very own eyes and experience new experiences.
Call us crazy but my husband and I snagged up a 1910 bungalow in the spring of 2015 in the quite competitive and insane Denver housing market. We are embarking on a journey to renovate this quaint little duplex into a clean, functional, and cozy place to call home. We take on some projects by ourselves and other times we manage contractors doing the dirty work for us! I love creating a space that feels cozy, inviting, homey, all the feels. I also love catching up with JoJo Gaines & Nicole Curtis on HGTV. Follow along with us and pray we don't burn the house down along the way!
I went to a graduate program where I learned the importance of networking, interviewing, resume building, and so many other soft skills that are invaluable. I am an extrovert and people person so I naturally was drawn to this side of the professional world. My favorite part of the graduate program was helping other students prepare for interviews, mentoring students in determining the best career choice for them, and getting to know so many professionals. I am currently a CPA working at a public company in Denver! I would love to help you prepare for your dream career by providing you tips & tricks I have learned throughout my experience running a student organization, co-coordinating several professional conferences, and being a teaching assistant.
My husband and I are both CPAs and we love to make sure that we are structuring our budget in a way that allows us to pay all of our bills on time, give our first fruits to our church, save for the future, and leave room to pay for all the other things of life, including shopping, renovating our home, going on fun trips, etc. We have gained a reputation for using credit card promotions and points to pay for the majority of our trips and using 0% APR for big purchases. With all of the comparison that we face with our favorite stores sending us promotional emails, fashion & lifestyle bloggers posting cute photos with all of the seasons must haves on Instagram, general comparison we face at work on the streets, and desires to do so much, it is a struggle every day to feel content with your finances, wants, and needs. Living within your means is essential to financial security and freedom. We have some tips and tricks we have learned along the way that we love to share with you!
